To my fellow makers, mothers and Mesdames,
This year, you had an idea and made it come to life. You turned your thoughts into reality. You strengthened hearts. You challenged minds. You lightened loads and encouraged spirits. You cared. You loved. You gave. The world would be a very different place without you and I appreciate you.
May your Christmas be filled with love, joy and laughter. Merry Christmas!
Yesterday was election day. Whether you submitted a ballot or not, you still have a chance to vote. How? Every day is voting day. Every day we cast our votes for what we deem important. How we spend our money, where we go, what we watch and who we spend time with are all votes.
How will you vote today?
I am ecstatic! The TwoFish shop is featured in the BuzzFeed article “41 Insanely Cute Items You Should Buy Yourself Right Now.” My minimalist pop culture designs made it to #36 on the list! Thanks Mallory McInnis!
Being spontaneous does not come naturally to me, especially since I have two young kids. I like having a plan. I like being prepared. I like following a schedule. So, when I said, “Yes!” to a spontaneous trip to the beach, everyone was surprised (especially me).
Live in the moment. Let go. Get dirty. Get knocked over by waves. It’ll be okay. You know how I know? Because that day I laughed harder than I had in months.
Planning and preparation are good, but so is spontaneity. The reality is that I need a little bit of both in my life. I can’t plan everything and I can’t be prepared for everything. Even if I could, I don’t know if I’d want to because some of the most enjoyable and memorable moments are unplanned.
Kids don’t exercise…they play.
They run. They jump. They climb. They crawl.
KidFish spends the day trying to move as much as possible. I, on the other hand, spend the day trying to move as little as possible. I like sitting, resting, reading and surfing…the internet, that is.
What if I looked at exercise the way KidFish does?
What if it wasn’t something I did 30 minutes a day for 3-4 times a week, but something I did all day, everyday?
What if I didn’t worry so much about exercising and just started playing?
I bet I’d be a lot healthier and happier.
